Tried on the Defender board, but not got a decent answer....Has anyone come up with a sensible solution for replacing the BBUS unit on the alarm? It's AMR4974 on the Defender, AMR4971 on the P38 (my year, at least), but it contained rechargeable NiCd batteries which expired many moons ago and the cell leakage destroys the internal circuitry...The part nos have been superceeded multiple time and now there are no new ones available...Wondering if anyone has had any success replacing it with a better/ after market solution for their P38?

Just disconnected on both mine, no one in their right mind is going to steal a P38

Was it Princess Leia who once said "help me Datatek, you're my only hope"... now that I hear that even you have disconnected BBUS then I know that all is lost...tbh I'm not worried about the P38... more the Defender

Do have a tracker fitted to it, even an apple tracker thingy.. If you have an iPhone that is🤔

Yes, the Defender needs protection, they are thief bait. I would fit a tracker as suggested by Mark but not CrApple, plus an after market alarm and maybe fit a WiFi camera if the car is parked close enough to the house WiFi with the ability to send an alert.
