Done a search but can't find anything conclusive, all the posts I see don't have a follow up.

Can someone please confirm if a Battery MF31-1000 fits in an L322. Looks to be 52mm taller than my Halfrauds one?

Many thanks.

Sorry don't seem to be getting the alerts for replies.

I saw a post from another member that had ordered one and he confirmed it fits. New one should be here Monday.
The Halfrauds one was ok when I was driving it every day but working from home means it's not getting it's daily charge.

Thanks for the replies though :D

Charge the battery before fitting and get a solar panel to maintain it.

I can confirm it does fit, I just need to make some brackets to secure it as it doesn't have the lip around the bottom.
Now will the old one fit somewhere as a dual battery setup since it's 900amp and only 18 months old?

Thanks for your help all. :D

In the boot right hand side, you will lose the detachable tow bar bin (mine now live`s with the spare wheel) wire it to the rear fuse board, few posts over on fullfat about it.

I don't have the tow bar anyway so thats no problem, just need to see if the battery will fit in there I suppose.

EDIT: I did read about it on there a while back, worth another luck. Cheers for the reminder.

Is the right side big enough for a battery to go below the floor? I need something to run my col box and have a couple spare batteries.

Theres a post on fullfat where he shows a 920amp battery in there, mines only 900amp so should be plenty of room :D
As it's only a 40amp cable in the boot I was looking at a DC to DC charger but they are silly money so now thinking if a 20amp solar panel charge controller will work to limit the current?

Yep, a solar panel charge controller should do the job, stop you running the second battery flat too.

That's my thinking. Need to check if the charge controller only kicks in over around 13v otherwise i'll need a delayed relay.
If you apply the input from the car to the solar panel circuit, leak back to the panel is blocked when it's dark, however, if the auxiliary battery is low, it may continue to charge from the cars main battery so I would fit an isolating relay on the input to the controller for security powered off the switched caravan feed if there is one on the L322.
This is the controller I use.

@Datatek re the continued charging, that's why I'm thinking if the controller only charges over around 13v input it would isolate the 2 batteries and stop the second battery pulling power until the engine is running and the alternator is up to speed. Otherwise like you say an isolation relay.

Any particular reason for you recommending that controller only I have 2 of the ones I posted as I like the voltage display?
