Battery light not coming on

Hi all after a bit of help

My 90 failed to start earlier the battery was flat i jump started it and found it wasnt charging. When i turn the ignition on the battery light doesnt come at all Checked and cleaned the connectors on the back of the altenator and cleaned the connector block ant the bulk head.

If i earth the small wire on the back of the altenator the light comes on on the dash but wont charge.

Only thing i have done to day is wire my stereo in i can see how this would of caused a problem

how did you wire in the stereo? what did you use for switched and permanant lives?

Unplug the stereo, see if it fixes it.

have you traced the wire from charge light to alternator for continuity, i had a bullet connector break which i found after seriously dismantling alternator

There were some original wires laying around behind the panal and there were switched live and perminent lives there

replaced the altenator and is all ok but will only charge at 13.7vs then raised idle

bear in mind your permanent live, if it is brown, then it is not fused.

13.v seems low, what condition is your battery in?
