That's usually the sign the alternator is on it's way out, put a voltmeter across the battery when the engine is running I think you want to see around 14.5v I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

14.5 is OK, on some of the newer it's a good bit more.

As shunter said, alternator fault or possibly a bad connection engine to chassis or on the D+ line.
