Battery Issues / Cold Starting

once started, the alternator sees battery voltage as low, so puts the current in. as voltage increases, the current decreases.
when you disconnect the battery the alternator thinks low volts so opens up the current availability. this runs your coil and keeps your spark going.
however, if you turn your lights on, the alternator will try and deliver current to them too, possibly causing an output overload and burning the alternator out.
its not recomended to run with the battery disconnected.

it also shags batteries if you arc weld the vehicle with it connected.
