You can fix the batteries if they are knackered and won't hold a charge loads of how 2s on YouTube. I have done it to some of my ryobi stuff and they still work 1 year on.

So I've heard, Something to do with flashing with double the voltage jumps them back into life
Not really looked into it just what I've been told.

That's the one just run a lead from something with more voltage like a 24v battery with live and neutral and tap the live a couple of times job done.
