I do if it's in the workshop. It's a brand new battery. If it was a battery problem surely it would be draining all the time?

hi , how u getting on

the battery will always drain without the alternator running , regardless if the ign key is in it or locked

did u find out what the alternator was outputting , to ensure it’s ok

I haven't physically checked the alternator but it's brand new and I don't think it would affect this. there is something not shutting down unless the vehicle is locked

would be worth to at least ensure it’s keeping ur battery topped up

have u gone through all the systems after it shuts down to establish what is causing the drain , is was supposed to be below 30ma wasn’t it with the landy asleep

Yes we're getting 20mA with it locked it's just when the vehicle is left unlocked with the key in we're getting 280mA. I'll just have to remember to take the key out if it's being left for any period of time. They may well all do it, I wouldn't normally have noticed as I wouldn't normally leave it for more than a few hours unlocked with the key in it.

that’s great so at least u know it’s fine with it locked, have u tried seeing what the voltage is whilst unlocked after a few hours without the key in it , trouble is as soon as u open the door the systems will wake up

apologises i’m not familiar with the D2 , know with mine after a while if i leave it unlocked the alarm with automatically set itself

don’t know what the answer is, apart from locking it as u know it’s only 20ma, have u got the biggest battery u can fit in it

assume you’ve also had the new battery tested

maybe the more experienced members here will know, as there’s also some great write ups on the forum with a minefield of info

just had a thought , have u checked the timeout , so after u remove the ign key and wait a little while , whilst sitting in the landy , ie no windows etc should work

plus are ur interior lights led as i know with a door left open it can drain the battery

With the key in or out it's 20mA - it seems to be just if the ignition has been on and then off. I think it's a 110Ah 1000cca.

I haven't tried that with the timeout, I'll give it a go in a bit. cheers!

plenty big enough , is just a thought ref the windows and plse let us know how u get on

for me i , sometimes don’t use mine for a few weeks, another reason i put a split charge system in mine lol

How much time after the ignition was off and no action to the door took place was that?.... be aware that even if you let the tool hooked if you opened a door which was closed during the measurement the whole system gets live again..,.. any measurement is relevant after the vehicle stood untouched in a particular status if you see what i mean

The doors were closed the whole time except when the drivers door was opened and shut at 10am

Quick update, tested the timeout and this appears to be ok - windows will not operate after about a minute after switching the engine off (didn't time it). To see if the battery was knackered I put it on charge for a day using a little trickle charger, reconnected it to the vehicle, ran the full beam for a few minutes to remove the surface charge then removed the battery and read the voltage which was 12.84v. This morning after leaving it disconnected overnight it is reading 12.77v - I'm guessing this is ok? When I went to charge it again the charger came up with the charging complete light and wont put any more in.
