hi i have a 96 110 csw, i have battery drain like its going out of fashion. i have a split charge system, auxiliary batt is fine no current draw, main batt [used three different batts so batt is not the issue] drawing 12.8 volts , dont know how to test amps, batt from full charge to dead in 6 hours, done the usual tests light across disconected earth terminal, pulled every fuse , nothing .disconected split charge removed second batt, nothing , i have now spent every evening for a week to no avail, so with everthing disconected still pulling max volts, short of tearing the loom apart i dont know what to do , can anybody sugest other tests, or do i just bite the bullit and go to an auto electrician, any comments welcom, thanks, steve.

Welcome to the most sarcastic yet helpful forum around.

Presumably you have a circuit tester and volt meter? If not get them.

Firstly check the draw on the back of the ignition - if its drawing when it's supposed to be turned off then replace the barrel. Next check each fuse in turn, but remember the radio one should always be live.

Be patient with electrics, they are fiddley and let down by very small bits.

Tis a strange way to introduce yersen but welcome anyways

My money is on the alternator, disconnect the battery earth then the main wire on the alternator and isolate it, refit battery earth and tell us what happens in the morning.
Or with a stone cold engine feel the alternator, if it's warm it's fubared.
