Thanks Ferry. Its currently secured by chain and padlock in the drive! Not pretty but effective.
Been able to find a local nanocom so will see whats going on with that tomorrow or Wed.

Thanks to a very helpful local user of a popular D2 forum, we plugged in a nanocom just now. RF test showed no signal being received from plips but the correct codes for keys were there in the BCU. So this looks like an RF receiver issue. The current unit looks clean with no water damage but i guess its goosed. One now on order, fingers crossed.
Ive disabled the alarm with Hawkeye and locked the car, so no more chains and padlocks.
Mr Ferry you were right, thanks for the assistance.

Welcome anytime. Let's hope it' the receiver not a wiring or other issue... i've seen enough cases when it looked like new but didnt work and new one fixed things. Fingers crossed

Just to complete this thread, the replacement receiver has fixed this issue and all is back to normal. 2x8mm bolts is all it is to remove and refit.
As a note, Hawkeye Total does do an RF test by proxy. Go to BCU and coding keys, it asks you to press a plip (remote key), if no RF signal is being received it will say no plip detected. So either receiver, multi plug in A pillar, other wiring to BCU, or BCU itself is faulty. Luckily this was the receiver!
Thanks again all
