Backwards Diff Lock Light!

Looked at all threads on this but not quite found anything to answer. Recently changed diff lock light switch. Engine was out so checked it was earthing through when activated (Lever to left) and it was.

Now its all back together the light comes on when diff lever to right (and diff lock is definitely disengaged) and goes out when I move lever to left!
How's that??

The switch is making the circuit when it shouldn't be, wired up backwards?

Shouldn't make any difference should it. One live and one earth, with a connecting switch in middle.

Well, if you say it was working before and isn't now, then either faulty part or you put it back wrong seem the most likely

Took out middle seat access cover and drivers floor and with a bit of acrobatics, unscrewed it and reset it. Works fine. I think I had it in too far and it wasn't letting me select diff.
