Most likely if it is stop start it'll be an agm battery. The programmation is done diagnostics usually.

the battery on the Range at the moment was a AGM

Doesn't matter what's in there at the moment, it may not be the original. As Mark said check the owners manual to ensure you get the correct type.

Phoned a main dealer and got a helpful guy in the parts department, the part number for the battery via my vin is LR094642Typically helpful info from JLR
which is the AGM battery

So at least you know the correct battery to fit.
Plenty of us TDV8 owners use them without issue.
And yes, you need diagnostics to tell it there is a new battery as it adapts the charging rates (and other stuff). GapIID is the jobbie.
