Just seen an ad in LRO mag for rear ladders for only £39 might get one. Its only a matter of a few bolts I think... They are designed to be used only with the door closed as the extra weight could damage the hinges etc. They are obviously designed to take the weight of the average person and whatever it is they are trying to get on the roof!

if i weighed 240lbs and was trying to put an injun block on the roof rack, id find another method!

I fitted one cos I was going to mount my work lamp and a CB ariel on it. In the end I mounted the lamp on the rear quater panel and my stainless bracket looks so good that i'm gonna mount a CB ariel in the same way on the other side. Only use it's really been so far is for climbing on top of a sea container on site (by backing up to it), and standing on to take photo's from high level, I also think it looks good too...

Oh, fitting is easy (but I have got a proper riv-nut tool thing), and you need to trim the number plate slightly so it sits over the mountings.

will the bolt holes be under the number plate already???

if not, will you need to use any kind of sealant or gasket etc. or just rivet / bolt them on?

You need to drill the holes in the rear door, two behind the number plate and two in the top (inside, not the bit you see). I havn't sealed mine as the riv-nut things arn't going to allow much water past, but if your worried you could put a smear of silicone on them before crimping them in (personnaly I wouldn't bother).
