Thanks GrumpyThere is a plastic 'piece' that sits in there and secured with 3 screws at the top (bottom is molded to clip over the undertray).
Best bet is a trip to a breakers yard - think you need to remove the undertray to get at the screws cos they are on the inside of the plastic bit.

To be honest the discs are fine and brakes working perfectly the car had been sitting for a while before I got itOk. I'd not have wasted money putting new pads on those discs as 20% of the disc surface isn't doing anything to stop the vehicle.

I know the Camel Trophy Freelander had some snow deflectors on rear suspension but have never seen anything allike for the front?
