Only just got round to fitting the cable on my 2003 vogue. Had it all apart but can't find that connector anywhere behind the dash so I'm thinking it's possibly in BMWs and not on the RRs even though it's the same system.

rr's don't have the cable behind the screen, the bm54 unit in the range dosen't have aux enabled either. best bet it to upgrade your bm54 to accept aux input, take a look at the carphonics website he has various different upgrade options including bluetooth

Yeah I've had a look on there before so might give them a call and see what they can do as they are only an hour away.

Took out the cd changer yesterday as it was knackered. Thought I'd read something somewhere about using the 3 & 6 pin plugs but can't find it now.

the normal method is to remove the changer and fit something like a grom unit or similar which fool the system into thinking there is a cd changer but it's actually a aux control unit instead, personally i'm going for the carphonics upgrade, but i'm waiting a little while longer as he has a mod in development which will allow control of an ipod through the steering wheel buttons

no its £158 including the dice DSP unit. The duo on its own is only £99.

The cheapest The recommended upgrade is £149 on the bm54 and you don't get track names on the screen. I also believe you can switch tracks from the screen if you install the duo where as with an aux input you would need to change it on the device?

I could be wrong though. I need to read more on the duo.

Hi just watched video will this cable work on 2004 vogue, CD player dead and I could do with having alternative to radio

I appreciate that this thread is a little old but I though that I'd give this cable trick a go, on my 2003 (04 Plate) L322 Vogue TD6, this afternoon. The short answer to the above question is NO .... at least not on mine. I went through the 'mission' that is the removal of the dash top etc and then audio/nav unit. I investigated the loom and unlike the one shown in the video (in a BMW) mine does not have a spare connection point on it. A little frustrating, albeit an interesting challenge getting the side pieces back in again but I'll shelve the idea of installing an 'Aux' cable or socket for a while now. If anyone has tried this cable thing and actually found a connection point in their 2003/04 Vogue I would be interested to know as if I have missed the connector I'd love to know where it is.Thanks

Hello guys, i am just looking a way to connect my smartphone(Android) to the radio, from what i see, what i need is just the Aux port and fit it to the car, but the radio has to be an XM radio, so is Range Rover radio an XM radio? This method works on GMC Yukon though.. I would to know if there is simpler solution just to connect my Android smartphone? or any solution.. i just need to connect it
