saw a bright orange (not G4) colour on a disco yesterday, nearly as in yer face as that green but it had the bottoms of the doors done satin black and the middle of the bonnet too. I think that would look quite cool with a the kwaka green.

This was the original plan.

The door bottoms will definately be black but I'm undecided about the black patch on the bonnet. I'm still not sure about the grille and the head light trims - green or black like they are at the minute (below).

I think green for light trims and black grill,but thats just me. It'll look mint what ever you do

Initial thoughts were satin black but now edging towards green. Not convinced either way but I've got until the "summer" to work it out.

:lol: thats fair enough, I think I'm going to do my door shuts etc satin black just so if I decide to change colour (planning on doing something with the roller technique once the weather shapes up a bit) again in the future i don't have to worry about it all again

I like your thinking. I hadn't considered future repaints.

Think about the weight of paint you're putting on it before you get all arty, the KGs add up!

It's not what I wanted to spend £80 on but the crack was only every going to get worse.

My roof light wiring runs inside the snorkel so when I removed it I pulled some fishing line through to help replacement.

New rubbers too

I'd love to know how you converted yours. I fitted the heated screen in 2010 but never wired it up before it was cracked and replaced. I really want to wire this up for next winter.

The paint job is static. I did the bonnet indoors so I'm just waiting for better weather (12c-20c) that matches up with my holidays.

Funny you should say that, it's sitting on the side in the garage. Been meaning to ebay it for a while. I had the rear professionally tinted so no longer needed.

Unless you are a wiring retard it really is not hard to sort out your screen.

Here goes, I've got a PRC 6796 RRC Screen timer - do you know the pin configuration.

The vague plan is to take the power from my aux fuse box, maybe link into heated rear screen switch and through the relay to the screen. Apart from that, I haven't got too far.

Right well firstly I didn't use a timer relay, purely because I didn't think I needed one.

The timer relay is fitted for numptys who can't remember to turn their screen off.

I trust you will not be one of those people if you can fit your own bloody screen in the first place!!

The screen needs to be fused at 30 amps per side and thus wired accordingly.

I use two 40 amp relays fused at 30 amps, switched by a single switch and supplied with power and earth from the bulkhead fitting (200 thing, 300 needs to pull from fusebox as suggested)

I honestly wouldn't bother with timer relay because you will never have it on that long anyway, the work very quickly!

If you do wish to use it, look on Vehicle Wiring Products Ltd. Suppliers of auto electrical parts. as they have the pinouta for different types I relay iirc and that may help.

Failing that, the relay pinouts are likely to be identical to a normal relay, just this one switches off after some time. Is it 4 pin or 5 pin?

I also would switch it separate from your rear window so that you can use it independantly, and remember to take the feed from your switch from an igntion love so that you can't accidentally leave the screen on, ie it turns off when you turn the igntion off (always keeps high voltage at the screen thus keeps amperage low)
