If it is Auf Wieder's intention/passion/agenda to build an immaculate example of a heavily modded Disco and not use it off road then so be it.
Nobody alive has the right to question or suggest how he should use what he spends his hard earned ££ on. Simples as.

I've spent 20 years of my working life teaching 11-16 year olds - around 350 a week. My skin is thicker than a fat rhino's arse. In my time I've had a knife drawn on me and been told to f**k off and die of a heart attack. I just smiled sweetly and had them both excluded.
Seriously, I took on offence whatsoever but I was very proud of Mark's defence of my Disco.
Anyhow, I'm going to take it off road soon to keep you all happy.

Macho ****s like me? You neither know me nor know the few brats I have had to do this to, the post was in humour not pure seriousness so pelase, down boy, off your soap box.
Most of the time I actually get on well with the kids because I am one of the few people they deal with that treats them with any respect so back off mate until you have the faintest clue what you are on about.
Naturally I am not going to discuss any specifics but in my job, even though it is a legal minefield for me to do so, I am not going to watch on the security cam while some little brat beats the living hell out of his caseworker, OF COURSE I am going to step in, pin his arms and evict him from the building with all haste and then file a full report.
/sigh nothing worse than keyboard warriors firing off before they know what they are aiming at.

I would never mention anything specific about anyone I work with, far more than my *just above* minimum wage is worth lol. I realise that my joke in the previous post definitely came across wrong , it's my dry sense of humour as I'm actually a passive guy
I do get where he is coming from though as there are plenty of dickheaded security guys around that would be picking fights with the self title hard nuts in my area

Naturally I'm not going to discuss any specifics of my job either 'mate'
but believe me I do know what you are talking about.I'm relieved to hear you get on with most of the kids and I know how difficult some are to relate to.....especially the ones with the worst kinds of abuse and neglect in their history which is why I took your post as the ravings of a jumped up, authority hungry arse.
I'm happy to be proved wrong but the middle of AWP's thread is probably not the best place
It's the good thing about bieng in this job at my age (26) old enough to carry a little authority but young enough to be "on the level" with them (we only deal with 18 and under hence the minefield)... essentially I went into this job young enough to remember that when I was a teen all I wanted was to be spoken to and treated like an adult.
So that's what I do and it shocks the little blighters lol I've even had some of our "regulars" defend me against new guys with the old "nah, lay off him, he's ok to us" kind of thing which is real nice

Age has little to do with it, or if it does I'm fooked! I work with under 16's and I'm 48!
But yeah....I know exactly what you mean when a kid that I've restrained and talked down from a rage more times than I care to remember steps up and says 'you'd better listen up cause he's alright......' kinda gives you hope.
More than anything I try to find ways to help them find respect for themselves because most of them have precious little

True that... there are plenty worth the effort inbetween the ones that you just know aren't really going to get anywhere mostly because they don't want to themselves.
Nice to find someone on the level in the same work area, even if it was by accident but I reckon we've hijacked this one enough lol

Looks like it's been busy around here!
August to December 2012.
The front bumper came off so that the intercooler could be done. Whilst it was off, I braced the recovery points, drilled Hi-Lift holes and braced them, shortened the wings to match the arches and stripped/etched it all and painted it in POR 15.
