Hmm... well it's a Land Rover after all - so build quality is a debatable point anyway.
Can't understand the V8 fascination at all... you gain what? 10 to 20 bhp over a Tdi if you use a 3.5 and you lose about the same amount of torque - plus you gain all those nice leccytrickery bits that mean you can't wade in it without spending bloomin ages on waterproofing it each time you want to. They eat cam shafts and timing bits and do half the mileage. It's a lot for a nice exhaust note and getting your hands stuck down the side of it when you want to change anything that's not on top of the engine.
