I spent my childhood in the back of a 90 and would love to own a Land Rover. Love Defenders but also partial to the comfort of a disco. What would you recommend for a newbie with tons of enthusiasm??
Also been looking around on Internet at about £5k options. What should I look for or ask for??? Defenders seem risky and rusty. But I love them. Owned a disco along time ago but basically I'd bought a shed that wouldn't stop!!

I also live on the south coast but would travel for the right landy.

Suggestions greatly received xxx

Would you buy a high mile'er? Found a Td5 but its got 200k on the clock? Found others with less miles but was just wondering what everyone thought about the leggier ones? Are we talking epic Volvo engines good for 600k? Or is it a steer clear??

Steer clear

Does it have rear chassis legs

How can you decide????

Walk away, you got plenty there to get a decent one - keep looking ;)

Landrover Golden Rule - if you are unfamiliar with the particular model you're after, take someone with you who is!! Research helps but you still need someone there who has actually driven them because you won't know how it's supposed to feel on the road.

Really good advice :)

+1 Yep good advice! you have a pretty good budget, so will get a lot of choice, service history helpful but doesnt always mean its been treated well.
Good luck and keep us posted! :)
