Hi All, new to the Forum but not Land Rovers. My L322 is asking for what looks like a 4 digit code before it will start, neither Land Rover or the Dealer know what to do, been 3 months now, can any one help. It is a 2004 TD6 HSE, thanks in advance

never heard of this one before :confused::confused:

sounds like the immobiliser or some sort of lock out - you tried disconnecting battery for 10 mins ?

Haven't tried that one although battery is now dead and perioidcally charge it. I believe it is an immobiliser issue however have had no help from LR or dealer, it cant be the only one ?? can it ??

Deactivation of interlock code (assumes a fully charged battery) :

Disconnect the battery earth lead

After at least one minute, reconnect it (the alarm will sound so have key fob to hand to turn it off)

Turn the ignition key to position II

The instrument panel will show a 10 minute counter

When the 10 minutes are up, you can start the engine

The ignition key MUST remain in position II throughout the 10 minute count

sounds like this could work ;)

Thanks all, tried both options but still asking for code, all dealer is saying is bring it in and we will have a look, reticent to do so as they have been useless so far

Hi Dougdotcom, I am in Ayrshire, Scotland, The display is the one where fault codes etc come up directly above steering wheel, it says " CODE ----". this is when key is turned to start position, have just found out from wife that she ran out of diesel and this apeared on 3rd attempt to start car, ( she had forgot to mention this before!!!:)

Is there a menu on one of the steering Colum storks, as you turn it you get different displays on the screen so selecting up or down moves one digit up or down till all the numbers are entered. :)

Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks
Hi did you ever get this sorted i have the same problem ?
I do know if you pull fuse number 46 out the engine will start normally but with no display or instruments. Believe it is a corrupt eeprom chip in the instrument cluster that is thinking you have put a code in to prevent starting.
This is nothing to do with the engine immobilizer system.

Hi 2002 l322 v8 also does not do a cluster test in the car or removed from the car. Was wondering if Roscopcoltran managed to sort his out as after 13 years if he has not there is not much hope unless you have any ideas.? Thanks in advance
