Hi Guys, just a quick question, my radio had gone down so looked for the amplifier and found this fitted under the rear driverside cover in the boot (picture 1) but where the hell is this 1 fitted (picture 2) as the only place I can think of is behind the glove box area. Thanks.

No idea what the red box is, not present on mine, the back antenna amp is under the shelf in the right hand rear quarter along with the FOB receiver.
The red one is connected to my rear boot window by a push on connection, but it also has a coax cable attached and a female spade so is that not my door entry system, not my radio.

There are two ariels for the radio one on each rear window one is fm and the other am
Sorry, not true, only one aerial on mine, with the ones that have 2 aerials it's called diversity where whichever aerial has the strongest signal is used. In all cases as far as I'm aware the same aerial(s) is used for AM & FM.

Sounds like an aftermarket device if it's connected to the boot window which is the heated window. Nothing to do with door entry but could be for a CB radio.

Hi, not it's the side window that has this attached to not the rear, as the other box that fitted in there is a big black one, I'll get a picture of it tomorrow and post it here.

Yes, that's on the higher models. Not on my DT but Mrgorsky's HSE has it. Makes a big difference to the signal.

This is my set up in the rear quarter compartment, but when I got my car it had a full Alpine system fitted and the only thing I have changed was the head unit to play CD's and my Ipod. So still, baffled as to why I do not get a good reception, so the red unit in the picture I have just brought a new one to see if that helps. Or does anyone know where I could get a ariel from and mines just the small stubby type, like this may need all of it with coaxial intact.

The radio aerial is in the rear quarter glass to which the red box is connected. The roof aerial is non standard and looks like a mobile phone aerial, nothing to do with the radio.

Oh, I thought the window one was for the fob not the radio,so is there some way of boosting the signal it receives or boosting the ariel to receive more signal. There was a car kit fitted when I got her but, I thought the stubby was the radio aerial not for the phone. So in my picture what is the black box for, as I have forgotten. LOL.

The aerial is the wire stuck to the quarterlight window. That plugs into a little amplifier unit under the window hidden by the parcel shelf.

The black box is the RF receiver. for the central locking.
