During the journey, as we basked in a rare spell of sunshine, my son—who had recently acquired the latest, feature-rich Apple Watch—began receiving unexpected alerts. His device warned him that he was in an environment with dangerously high noise levels, advising him to wear hearing protection and cautioning that remaining exposed for more than 30 minutes could result in permanent auditory damage.
