Just recently purchased this project vehicle, 1988 defender 90 CSW fitted with 200 tdi. Stacks of history and all old MOT's, previous owners details, bills etc..
It does drive, I have driven it on/off trailer and in/out of my garage but that's all. Was MOT'd till March of this year, currently SORNED. Logbook in my name.
I can't take any more whinging from the missus and its needing a home with a more understanding wife. Final straw seemed to be when I stashed the rear tub in the garden, thought I'd got away with it as you couldn't see it from the house
There is a photo in my page photos but I have since removed the rear tub to properly attack the chassis with a wire brush and paint.
The car had some damage to the passenger side bodywork by PO, was not registered (I have checked HPI). Previous owner has bought many new/used parts to repair including, front passenger wing, rear side panel, tub rear plate and capping, sides etc. Passenger door has been repaired. Loads of stuff in boxes, new glass seals etc etc. I really suggest if anyone interested to come and have a look. Has all the rear seats etc, carpets roof linings. Nice Wolfrace alloys tyres not great and probably the reason the PO crashed.
Chassis does needs some work to the rear. I will (if it doesn't sell) firstly buy some really good earlplugs, followed by a rear crossmember with extensions. Other than that I can see a small repair on top of the rail,
Passenger side needs a replacement footwell and small repairs to the bulkhead in the area under the screen. Its in the area you can't see the area until the screen is removed.
I really suggest that if your interested please come and have a look. Will need a trailer and large van to get all the bits in.
Car is in Plymouth, offers considered once you have seen it, any q's please fie away but am away this weekend to salisbury plain.........on my motorbike..
