my old series 3 had them in but i did have a 2.8td in it so had the power and had a over drive on it to went very well

Yeh, my series 2a V8 has disco 300tdi axles (same ratio as rangie) and an overdrive and on the motorway it'll sit at 70mph doing about 1800 rpm.
But put them in a standard 2.25 diesel and it would be too high geared

yeah,, prob will be so he best put a bigger engine in it aswell lol
