Manual TD4's come with a fair chunk of unpainted plastic low down and with very short front and rear overhangs, combined with sharply cut away approach and departure angles, I've never really had a problem.

By far and away the biggest issue, especially in convoy with bigger LR's, is the lack of low range :(

PS: Unscrew and remove the two stupid curtains that fix to the bottom of the front bumper on the later cars, it'll give you another 2" of clearance with the added benefit of making even bigger splashes in deep water :D

is yours a manual as i`m thinking of going with an auto to compesate a bit for no low box

I owned three FL2's before moving on to a Disco; two were manual TD4's and one was an automatic SD4.

The manual is good, but the lack of low range is a problem and the clutch isn't the toughest, especially having to use it so regularly at low speeds.
Despite the 10% fuel penalty with the auto, it's the better car and goes a very long way towards compensating for the lack of low range.

PS: Thanks for the reminder - need to get the Mantec sump and tank guards in the For Sale section!
