have took all bolts out ? and it wont split ? or you wanting to know how to do the full job.?

how do i split the talk converter from the engine and do you leave it in the bell housing? if so what do you do ?

Torque converter you mean.

What you do is :search:FFS

I've never owned an auto, yet I know how to do it.

there is a plate at front of gear box rear of engine sump ,remove and turn engine around with a screw driver on ring gear or spanner on front pulley ,there are 4 bolts 13mm socket need ,then undo everything secured to box, center consol,selector lever, props,kick down cable at throttle bracket,hand brake cale at lever,bell housing bolt ,mounts etc,support engine with vehicle jack on panhard rod upto front of sump
