View attachment 199320 View attachment 199320 Well I went and got it out !
The ground was extremely boggy! I aired the tyres down at the bottom of the slope but could not even move more than a couple of meters before sinking in. First job , winch up the 100 ft high bank . I honestly don't think you would have got a 4wd tractor up its very steep and the ground is just falling away . I would think there's every chance you would roll it .
Anyway ,got to the top of the bank on a solid ish bit of bog and set up for the pull . The disco was proper bogged down and had a flat battery So set up for a double line pull with snatch block ,5t slings and 4.5 t bow shackles.I put a 3 t sling on the recovery points bridle fashion.
My 90 was secured to a tree behind with another 5 t sling to the NATO hitch.
It took about 1 hour of winching to drag the disco a hundred feet or so and get it back on solid ground.
Sorry there aren't many pics, I was a bit busy and muddy !
All in all quite a fun day . Nice to meet a fellow forum member too
