I’ve purchased a new aircon condenser for my Defender TD5 and wondered how easy it is to change over.
I’m not sure whether to try myself, or pay the £150 l’ve been quoted by the local LR specialist.

Obviously l will need to get the gas removed and then refilled afterwards which they said will cost £50.

Yup. Easy. If its leaking badly enough they wont be much if any gas in there anyway, was **** all in mine.

Front grill/surround off. 4 screws in the top. Two om each side.

Couple bolts on the condensor itself.

New o rings - buy TWO packs of the nitril air con orings from halfords.

Replace. Refit. Regass.

Takes maybe an hour

Thank you

l will do it myself then. My aircon is still working but the condenser looked in a bit of a state so l decided to replace it.
