Right heres the kicker.....

The L322 is a complex beast of computers and electronics....

The IKE - Instrument Pack, The LCM - The Lighting Control Module and the BCU - Body Control Unit....all store vehicle specific information - the IKE is the main interface gateway and acts as the CANbus Master device, the LCM acts as the CANbus Slave device - if you swap out the LCM for another and not have it coded to the car, you *may* get spurious results with light failure warnings, or even some of the lighting not working at all.

The correct replacement procedure is to read and store the information from the current LCM, and then write this to the replacement LCM, that way it knows what car, model, spec, year, mileage, etc etc it is plugged into.

Also I thought the IIDTool was made by GAPDiagnostics....?!?!?!?!?!

yu mite need to know wot your doing tho? ;)

The gap iid tool is a powerful bit of kit for the l322, it also goes under other names.

Agreed, also got a gap iid for my D3 and can reflash all the ecus and add updated software

With guidance I reflashed some of the ecus, inc transfer case etc , scary as u update them as all the doors lock and unlock then dashboard lights up like a Xmas tree, fingers crossed with baited breath it starts again but was all fine

Heard where people have messed around with settings who haven’t understood them and ended up having to get a special software from iid themselves loaded via computer and iid dongle to allow to to reset all the systems

Some of the fault codes I had when I first started

It only says it can configure the LCM, not flash the ECU to code it to the car!

Apologises I’m not sure mate, u will be more knowledgable than myself

Know a quick email to gap iid and there technical department are extremely helpful

Will email u the main persons email at gap

Right so am I right in saying if I put this ecu on my car it's going to get more faults. Cos the car will not recognises it. I thought it would just be plug in and bobs a goodin

Hi

Out of curiosity, Ref one of ur posts

“”””Right the diagnostic I've got is britpart iid tool got it with the car. And it's coming up.1/2 ox20 short circuit at ecu out put (zg-pins) that's the way it's ritten on the dash. Had that ecu out on the A post put the plugs in and out no change””””

When u used ur diagnostics was that all the fault codes that came up, plse

As they normally will start with B , P or C

Thks

PS, the guys here are the gurus when it comes to these vehicles , as I also have an iid i was just intrigued ref the fault codes u got , cheers

No other codes that's the way it says word for word

So o can't just stop it

It will not be plug and play.....

You *may* get more faults.....it *may* even cure your bulb message....

But it will not be coded correctly for your car......the LCM carries vehicle specific information, vin number, a copy of the mileage, model code, market, year, lighting functions, etc etc.....

These cars are not simple, they are wildly complex.

Wat if I put it on and it don't like it can I just put my old one back on.

A bit of light reading.....

And I got it round the wrong way - the LCM is the I/K Bus Master and the IKE is a stand by unit.....The IKE is still the interface gateway for all the data buses including the CANbus
