After a bit of slightly enthusiastic off roading in my P38 :D it developed a knock and wallowing all of the place i kind of suspected the damper so got underneath it with the mrs jumping up and down on the tow bar only to see the damper completely snapped from its bush mounting.

This is great news especially as the MOT is due next week woo hoo!!

Looking up at it, it looks simple enough to get the bottom damper bolt off but the top one is well hidden and i'm staying with family so have no tools and more importantly no Rave CD.

Any one changed one before and give me some advice or a heads up on tools needed??

Cheers fellas any help mucho appreciated.:)

Very straightforward, undo bottom bolt, undo top bolt swap for new one.

Take wheel off for better access.

Posibly nuts might be tight at bottom so get some WD40.

For the shock to snap, I would look closely at the top and bottom mounts for any cracking.

Thanks for replies, the top mount looks quite rotton to be honest but i can get that sorted when i get home. I want to get the Shock done before i drive home though.
