Hi all
Been looking to try and get some advice for a while now and fell on your site, looks like you all know plenty about land rovers!
I have a 2006 freelander and can’t connect my phone to it for love nor money. I think it’s because the last owners phone was connected so all options are locked out. I’ve tried taking the fuse out and disconnecting the battery to reset things but no joy- any thoughts welcome
Cheers

Just delete the connected phone details - follow the owner manual instructions to connect yours. ? but I guess you already tried that

I don't have a freelander but there should be an option to reset or wipe the Bluetooth memory, failing that a master reset of the radio if you've reached the max number of Bluetooth devices stored.
Then you should be able to turn on a sync or discovery mode to pair your phone

Plenty on youtube. I did a quick Google for '2006 Freelander phone connection'
This chap does a few:

Thanks all - tried all of these options - Landry finds the phone but then just says connection failed - tried all different phones same result - think it’s to do with number of phones previously connected but can’t reset things

Ok then, best advice I can give you.......

I think the Siemens Bluetooth unit for the Hippo is in the boot space (Same kit as a D3), that needs its power source and aerial disconnecting and leaving for at least 5mins - it loses its memory and you should then be able to start afresh. A neighbour had the same drama on an ex-lease car.

Thanks for advice - I have taken the panels off the boot side found the Bluetooth unit and disconnected it for a good 10 mins - reconnected everything and still the same - all the phone options have a padlock next to them so I can’t access them - even after disconnecting the Bluetooth module anymore thoughts anyone ??
