Hi All,

I've got a TD6 L322, while doing an oil change today i heard a loud crack while tightening the sump bolt back in. Presume its the sump that's cracked as there's oil coming out from the sump plug area.

Can anyone give any advice on how to remove the sump please? I'm seeing all sorts about removing the front differential, front subframe etc etc.... Not quite the easy fix i thought it was going to be.

Cheers

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Sumps don't tend to just 'crack' whilst tightening the drain plug.
How tight did you try and tighten it up to?! Is the car new to you?
I would drain the oil first and find out exactly where it is leaking from and go from there...

Fookin 'ell how tight does the sump plug have to be!!

Must of put some force on it to crack a sump..

Likely you've raped and stripped some threads.

I'd wager that the threads will wind out with the sump plug lol
