I've got another question regarding the ace system on my discovery 2. So I've been trying to reinstate the ace system and I'm now at a stalemate. I have ace warning light on my dashboard at all. At first I thought it was just taped up like 4 other lights were when I bought it. However after a quick check this evening this isn't the case.

I've been underneath the drivers footwell where the diverter for the ace is and found all the connector blocks undone and reconnected them in case one was a power supply for the light. However no luck still, does this point towards the ace having been removed from the ecu? Or is there something I've missed.

Also do people think it's worth trying to keep? Or go to standard arb's? At the minute it's getting on for close to £100 in parts to getting fluid around the system before I find out why it was removed to start with and then fixing that problem.

The decision to re-install ACE is only something you can decide if you can justify the cost & effort vs the benefits. If you like driving the car relatively quickly round corners on tarmac or like finding the limits off-roading you will notice the benefits. If you only drive to maximise fuel economy & rarely go off-roading, I'd suggest it's probably not worth re-installing.

Well I've never been in an ace equipped discovery with it working to know how good it is. However I've driven a lot of land rovers some with and some without anti roll bars and I never have the slightest desire to optimise cornering speed.

My main reason for asking the question is that I'm having to spend a fair bit of money (ace pump, new belt, banjo bolt, ace fluid and then getting it re programmed) before I find out what's wrong with it and why it was removed.

The discovery will be used off-road but more Greenlaning and field work. On road I expect it to drive like a big 4x4. I'm not trying to drive it like a sports car because it's like sitting in an arm chair, really comfortable.

I need to buy anti roll bars for it because the ace has been disconnected but the ace rams and anti roll bars are still in place

The difference with it working or not is immense.

Mine is working 99% of the time at the moment, I have some 3/8" bore hose to go on this weekend
