Annoying rear doors

Hi guys,
The rear doors on my freelander 1 are extremely difficult to open and close..

The thing in the picture seems to be the problem ('thing' because i cant seem to find the name of it in the Haynes manual) It slides back and forth pretty viciously and hit the door seal when the door is closed, it could be normal but i don't know. I tried greasing it but it hasn't help so was wondering is there a way to get it out?

i used to grease the slide and it was no prob, its the the door strap, take it off and you will bend bodywork.

Nice to know, i'll re-grease the cr*p out of it and hopefully jobs a good'en cheers

Yep it's the wind check strap, looks like its come loose from its fixing in the pillar.

Guessing no easy fix? More grease maybe lol

Everything is fixable....looks like its free floating from side to side on the pillar which has removed the paint.
I would suggest removing the pillar trim inside the hippo to see if you can get to it.......it may just be nuts worked loose if your lucky else get the welder out or maybe drill tap and machine screws to hold it in place?

Fingers crossed on it being a loose nut, off to go see.
