Has anyone else suffered a Split seat belt, when closing the door after getting out, the seat belt gets caught on the door latch keeper, subsequently piercing the seat belt!

There is an adaption to the door latch that helps prevent seat belts and trousers pockets being caught. LRO and LRM advertise some time ago I think.

I used one of those padded shoulder straps of a satchel bag. It's black so blends in and sits perfectly. I've had to buy 2 sets of new seat belts because of that damn latch!

Permanent bruise/chafe on the webbing, but never managed to actually split one - top work! Oh, and countless pairs of jeans with belt loops (and usually lump of surrounding denim) ripped out......probably slightly more prone having a posterior the size of a small country....... oops...... Cheers, A

There's a thing called the X Trouser which doesn't stick out so much and is less likely to snag the seatbelt or clothes.

I've got them on mine, and it helps a bit but it is still possible to slam the seatbelt on the door catch. It's amazing how vulnerable seat belt fabric is these days. When I was young it was more or less indestructable, but stress engineers have been at work, apparently.
