Well I only went and bought myself a Discovery today for some off roading fun but I have a question to ask and it is in fear of being shot down about not using the search function to answer it but up to date info is needed.

I use my no claims on our everyday motor so what are the best insurance companies to use for limited use on a 1995 Discovery 300tdi that will end up with a few basic modifications on?

Don't want anything special but you good folks seem like the best to ask for answers on this sort of thing!

Here's the Disco....

I used Adrian Flux when I got my 2nd one. You can get a limited milage one, I could do 3000 miles a year. I think u can say how many miles u want. It was around the £500 mark on my bobtailed disco but u build up a 2nd lot of no claims so after the first year it dropped to like £300. Just give them a ring see what they say.
Hope that's some kind of help, have fun! :)

I'm with Liverpool Victoria all mods declared and insured offroad aswell with all mods declared for 219 a year and they don't use my no claims and I don't gain them either as it's a specialist policy

Lancaster have always been best for me. 109 doing <3000 miles a year with some mods.

+1 for Lancaster

just got my Hybrid V8 for £160 1000 mile limit

/a lot of um who say they do specialist insurance dont

Right then I went with Performance Direct in the end for the Disco. £226 fully comp for Wifey and I off road as well as on road inc commuting to work 4000 mile limit off road mods so not too bad at all :)

Im considering another car for commuting and just did a few "compare the meercat" type searches. I was surprised how reasonable they are even with no NCB on a new policy although Im 40 with no claims in 9+ years.
£224 for a Rover 75 CDTI Connoisseur SE.
