Would it not have been easier to go to somebody who regularly exports to Merka and get one off them? I am thinking or LHD/RHD ex MOD 2.5 NA Diesel. P.A.Blanchards springs to mind.
That's exactly what i'm trying to do. It's crazy because they fitted the 300tdi with the LT77 transmission that it originally had. I'm guessing they fitted a different bell housing to get it on the 300TDi. I can't tell as i'm still learning.
I need that damn engine for sure. The VIN says so. Curse that VIN. Everything else is OK.
My Landy is a 90 series 3 i believe because it still has the lift handle doors instead of the push button. 1985. I checked out that website with the MOD defenders and they just have the series vehicles and not the engines themselves or at least i didn't find them. I'm looking through some magazines now to see if I can find a parts distributer nearby.
just put the right engine back in as well as transmission, make sure there are no disc brakes. Has to be like it was when in came off the assembly line and check the color is right. Good luck. Did you get the PM?
sure did and they are all drum brakes the link you sent me was for a diesel, i need the petrol unfortunately. I'm a diesel mechanic so that would have been ideal. I think i might just send the 300TDi back to the states if i can't sell it. It's a hell of a power plant and i could always just fit it back on once i get it through the gates of US customs.
its a 2.3 petrol engine from an early 90/110 ,eng numbers looks altered though
I'm late to the game as usual. Just want to say howdy to a fellow Yank! Good luck and don't become substantially corrupted by living amongst all those British folks for so long.
Thanks bud! I feel I am getting a bit corrupted as I also joined in on playing rugby
You found out what a mans sport is then
Indeed, and they made me loose head... Good fun
Top tip,
Get a scrum cap if you dont want daft looking ears in a few year (i was tight head)
Good luck with that. British influence and head injuries are in the same category! Thanks bud! I feel I am getting a bit corrupted as I also joined in on playing rugby
