Hi. I'm newly joined and this is my first post.
I'm sure this is an easy fix for someone that knows about such stuff, but I am struggling to find the relevant wiring diagrams.
I've recently purchased a 1993 ex military FFR which has had an engine change (now a 200TDi) and hasn't been on the road for about 6 years. I am now trying to recommission it and hope to get an MoT in the very near future.
However, whoever changed the engine appears to have messed around with the wiring, so I am having a few problems with sorting out what is connected where and where it should be connected.
In particular, I have had to change the alternator to a Rollco Alt110 which has different connections from the original military alternator, so I am a bit confused as to where the different terminals should be connected to the Landy.
The battery connection is obvious but there are then 3 other connectors; a W+ post on the back of the alternator and a set of 3 spade terminals (2 linked together which are a bigger size than the 3rd. Lucas/Bosch connector?)
(The military alternator only had 2 posts on the rear; one for the battery and one which was connected to the indicator light. I have no idea if that was correct because the alternator wasn't working and some of the wiring has clearly been messed around with.)
My initial thought was that the W+ connector went to the indicator light and when connected like that, the battery charges but the indicator light stays on and the gauges are clearly not entirely happy with the voltages they are receiving.
Any suggestions?
