Ah that would be the garlic:rolleyes: Or the cheese that smells of sweaty socks:eek:

Looking around the vegetable patch for snails has a slightly different purpose in Froglandia. My mate had a Frog girlfriend at one time, she must have been veggie. According to him she ate like a Rabbit or was it she went like a Rabbit? Can't remember. :D

Just an update and a thankyou, part arrived from Emmotts within 24 hours (£50 isnt bad for an alternator so a bit relieved) followed the AA mans instructios to fit and it only took me half an hour - thats the first time ive fixed anything myself without a hammer! thanks for all the advice re not driving it, much appreciated!

Great work.....did it solve your issue??

yes it did, Had to do the door key dance to reset imobiliser after having the battery off but it started first time and theres no battery light on anymore, drove 60 miles to work this morning and it appeared normal so trying not to jinx it but seems to be ok!

Im pleased he showed me how to move the pulley with a spanner to lossen the belt tension or knowing me i would have probably taken the pulley off!!

felt a bit odd that it actually worked when i finished!

Now overhaul your old alternator and keep it as a spare for when your secondhand replacement dies:)
