P38A Alpine Radio and CD Changer

All the bass speakers in the doors and the sub have all got perished foam so I have ordered repair kits for them but the cd changer is really hacking me off. I have taken it out and cleaned it a few times, it then works for a couple of discs and then either jams with a disc in or partially ejected or just comes up no disc on the head unit. I ideally want to keep the std head unit but wondered if any other Alpine cd changers would plug and play or am I stuck with the std model as the only option?

Bin the CD changer and use music from a phone or dedicated device. I plug my phone into an FM transmitter and it gives me hundreds of tracks from my play list. There are I think better ways of doing it. We no longer bother with the CD changer.
