after selling out and getting a comfy CSW, I'm having to cope with alloys...
problem is i'm having real difficulty getting the caps off - have tried various pliers etc but obviously don't have the knack. Anyone have any tips?

cheers in advance

You mean the caps on the locking wheel nuts? If so there's a plastic tool for that, it should be with the locking nut key. Also they tend to sieze on...you need to grease them when you pot them back. (after you finally get them off)

Or do you mean the stainless steel caps that cover each wheel nut? If it is the normal wheel nut caps you do not remove them, just use the correct wheel brace that is six sided and it does not damage the covers.

thanks for the replies, it's the caps that cover the locking wheel nuts, unfortunately I have no wheel nut key nor plastic tool, I was hoping to get in them to determine which wheel nut key I'd need and then order one.
what does the plastic tool look like? is there anything else that will do? cheers.

It's a hollow tube with 6 "fingers" on that you push on to the cap and it grips it, then you pull it off an hopefully the cap comes off with it. I would suggest that you go to your local friendly LR dealer who I'm sure will be happy to sell you one for a few quid.

cheers lightning,
will have to go and get replacement locking wheel nut key anyway!

thanks loads.
