Hi everyone

Been on here for a while now and have never really said much just read a lot. So I thought it was about time to post up a little build thread on my land rover. Had the 90 for a year and 4 months now and love every minute of it, I use it as my daily work horse. I am a building contractor so I use it for towing materials and plant, and it can be a good bit if fun too.

Things I have done to it so far
*new turbo
*egr valve blank
*new water pump
*all belts have been renewed
*had the fuel pump tweaked for a bit of extra umpthh!
*the bigger disco alternator fitted
*new rear part of the exhaust as it wasn't there when I bought it
*bigger battery
*racked out the back with shelves and fake floor
*roof rack
*led lights in the front bumper
*winch bumper with a husky super winch rated up to 7tonne. I have seen it pull a big static caravan and a tractor and trailer all at the same time up a hill. Winch had everything renewed 6 months before I bought it for £80 with the bumper :)
*fitted a 2000 watt converter with two plugs
*rainbow speakers and a old cheap Sony stereo
*and I made a cubby box today to replace the centre seat
*8" wipac spot lights to go on the A bar I have bought but not yet received.

Think that's everything for now, would like to get a 2" lift kit and a aluminium intercooler.

How it was when I bought it

I didn't like the metal grills on the front so took them off.

When I fitted the winch and bumper

That's it for now, I will try and update as much as I can but I'm fairly busy spending all my money on my track car mk2 golf.

Cheers

 Absolute bargain mate! Nice looking motor n'all

Loving your homemade cubby box. Doing mine soon. Thinking cup holder and switches for heated seats

Cheers mate :) I would like to get comfier seat's and then fit heated panels into them. Then fill the box with switches. It's not a landy if it doesn't have switches.

I have rover 25 (the mgzr I think) seats. I bought the whole interior on eBay for £50. Sold all the rear seats and panels separately and made £40 back straight away. The front seats have a tensioning buckle thing. Removed that with wiring cos they sell for £16+ each! Fitting was a bit of a ball ache but ok.

I lurves a bargain.

Ahhh comfier seats are the dream.. Let us know what seats you go for as that will probably be the next thing for me, got to be heated too.

Lovely fender you got btw mate

Thanks for the comments, I have a pair of recaro rs turbo bucket seats that I'm tempted to fit in there. Otherwise I quite like the rang rover leather ones out of the 38 I think?

Each to there own but I personally thought the metal grill and light surrounds looked tacky and I wasn't keen on the silver cheque plate so painted it black. Having a winch is incredibly handy, already used it to pull myself out of a sticky situation, pull my tractor out of a field and the 4 tone dumper off the trailer because it wouldn't start.

I'm not a massive fan of the roof rack but it was cheap and I really needed one as the lack of space in the back stopped me from getting anything longer than 6 foot in there, and I'm not in a position or either want to spend over £200 on a really nice roof rack :O

Side steps are pretty rusted out and I haven't got around to getting new ones, think I might buy some tree sliders.

Cheers

Alex

nice work. I like the used look on fenders. not a fan of shiny stuff! :(

If your gonna use yam winch in anger then i suggest a more robust/waterproof solenoid, like an albright or similar. And get it mounted as high as possible up in the wing or so.

if the side steps are knackered, id definitely recommend decent rock/tree sliders. Can use them as a step and they will take the abuse better.

+1 on the sliders.

Have found my rusted steps to be quite a snow plough lately!

No I don't like shiny stuff on landy's

I will have to move the box when I get my A bar so I was going to put it in the wing and get a wireless controller so I don't have to keep plugging the controller in every time I want to use it. Either that or wire my controller up to the box an have the switch in the cab.

I will defiantly be getting rock/tree sliders.

Thanks for the comments :)
