Alerts not working

As the title says really, used to get a red number on the alerts button, but now i get nothing and needa check threads manually which is a bit of a ball...

Hope it can get fixed

I'm still getting alerts, are you getting one for this post?

Check that you're ticked for subscribing to any thread you post in and your alert settings.

Click your user name on the top toolbar, select 'notification preferences' and check the boxes are ticked.

Nope didn't get an alert for this!

And went to 'Alert Preferences' but all is ticked?

I did get a red number on a PM for a alternator bracket though, just not alerts on any threads

@martys0uth have you tried 'preferences' and checking the 'auto watch threads I create or answer' box is ticked?

ahha!! it is working now!! wouldn't have thought to look elsewhere other than alert preferences for that!
