Dear Ming.
I usually find your replies a usefull source of information in particular your technical advice and opinions with reguards to tuning the Td4
However, Car`nt be arsed . Hello! Ming ows yer Maff.
 
I've had my Disco in for the same reason and have been told that I need a new Ignition barrel, at a cost of £300, inclsive of VAT and and labour.
Sounds a lot to me

Tis you can but a bloody good microwave of less than £70 nowadays!:p
On a more serious note i dont think that replacing the ignition barrel will solve the aforementioned prob.(only my opinion).
i know this cos i had to rip mine out, when the lock failed (blocking rush hour traffic for 40 mins , while i tried to smash the lock off,).theres nothing techy in them(200Tdi), 4 wires, 1 power in,1 power out (radio fan etc.)1 power ignition (glow plugs etc.) and the skinny brown one,(starter soleniod) theres a man on here might know bout this Over to you LR GUY.

Mondo it twas just an ickle joke , dont go all prim its not like you read djabs thread then ya might understand. . . :)

to be honest dont know to much about 200 tdi but cant see a basic ignition barrel causing an alarm to go off but then im unsure of wot immobilisation is connected.
:(

HORAYYYYYY rain stopped, sprayed loads of wd40 in the locks lo and behold two days of sunny weater all working fine again. o well just have to wait and see if it plays up again when it rains . thanks for all the help
