Hi folks,

after my refit of galvanized chassis went well and all done, now i am having issues with the alarm and immobilizer,

today had to start truck by putting in eka code, got it going went great been running for oh about 45 mins went to see some pals left it running got back to the house ignition off with 30sec tried to start it again now joy nothing dash light all come on and went off as they should, but noticed the red LED was on and never went off,

new batteries in fob, nae difference

some times you can open doors alarm sounds, some time you can open doors all is good, then put key in ignition alarm sounds, and then some times key in ignition turn key engine starts,

haven't looked at the bcu etc yet for dampness not sure where it is yet????

doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason the joys of a disco owner.

any help would be good

cheers

Hi Sierrafery

No welding on the car done, it was all new chassis, and the key fob doesn't work at all, current state of truck is, unlocked open all door ok, key in ignition ok turn key all lights on dash come on and off as they should apart from battery and oil light turn key nothing but solid red LED on and led on key fob flashing.

yes that fob thing must be ruled out cos as long as the car is immobilised you can remobilise it only by fob or EKA...unless it's set on "always disarm with key" which is not factory setting... find somebody with nanocom to synk the keys and if still no joy it's possible that the roof receiver failed too...while you are with tester plugged analyse this too: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/recommendation-d2-owners-184078.html

I have looked in to the diagnostics machines, whats peoples opinions on the lynx diagnostics software for the Discovery 2?
