Hi All

I have had my Land Rover Discovery 2 standing for 6 months (doors open). The car battery was flat/dead so changed this and she started perfectly. I then changed the key fob battery and it looked perfectly but nothing when I tried to open the car with the fob. When I then opened the door with the actual key and opened the door the alarm started (30sek). The door locks now open and close but the alarm light blinks like mad and I suspect alarm will go again if I open the door. Any way to turn off the alarm (not certain where the ECA code may be) so hope there is a solution with the key / fob?

Hello and welcome to the zoo. Could be worth popping the same question on the discovery section for better advice. Have reset the fob key to the system. Sometime when replacing battery this effects the alarm and locking not working. I had to click my fob (oo ere misses now then it was like that) several times to reset door locking to the fob.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
1. Locking and unlocking with the fob is the correct procedure, unlocking with the key will set off the alarm, the system is voltage sensing.
The system sleeps, to wake it you need to unlock/unlock (exact info is in your handbook).

2. Rapped blinking of the red LED is normal then after a short time it will or should settle to a slower flash. (Your handbook will give the exact info with the timing).

3. Only if the system is ok it can then plugged into a diagnostic unit and the security functions can be isolated/altered.

4. A main LandRover dealer will be able to supply u with the ECA code your vehicle left the factory with.
