Alarm etc

Not my Landy, he has no internet access so im asking for him, i suspect its the Part # YWY500170 Modded RF Receiver Module? that was wrong on my P38 (BMC staying alive most of the night)

This guy has the problem that the battery is draining, the red light is on (on the Parking mode) and mirror (BMC staying on all the time) the alarm keeps going off (for no reason) he has changed the battery so its a new one and its still going off, he did go to the steeliers, they first told him it was the ecu, then the door locks,

So what do you guys think it could be? any suggestions please!!

Just to add he told me it all started when the changed the battery over

comon guys help me out here, someone must have a better idea than me? or do you think im right, cuz its not my Rangie i don't want to steer this guy the wrong way

hmmm, just reading the thread, not totally 100% sure on what to suggest, the thing I feel that should be taken into account before blaming the RF receiver is, whats the vehicle been like prior to these problems?? Has the battery been draining away since he has had it or has it only just started??

If its only just started is he doing anything different? Is he parking it anywhere different??

When the alarm goes off what message is he getting on the dash?? It will tell him what set it off.

It does sound like the RF receiver BUT i would be wary of just replacing it before taking into account other factors. Ive seen people replace the RF receiver on the advice of another member on here and STILL end up with the same problems as before so dont just go out and replace it.

Has he been locked out at all and had to use the EKA procedure??
