Had aircon book symbol for ages and nanocom said blend motor was knackered. Heater started leaking so changed heater and blend motors at same time.
Now nanocom says aircon clutch has a problem.
Where is it?
Can it be repaired or is a new one needed?
Is it hard to change?
Ta much

AC clutch is on front of compressor. You should be able to hear it click and see a difference in the way the pulley turns when it’s turns on/off.
As far as repair, no idea but if it fubar then dig in and have a look, I would expect some replaceable parts in there from the right supplier if you could find them.

Unplug the leads to the compressor clutch and apply 12V to it (use RAVE to determine colours) and it should click on and off.

If it clicks on and off with direct power, check the relay and fuse, then if that all checks out - the HEVAC system will only pull in the clutch if there is pressure in the system as detected by the tri-pressure switch in the refrigerant lines.

But gas or not the compressor clutch will pull in with direct voltage.
We had the same with the tri pressure switch. Ours was cold when pulled in with direct voltage, so had gas,so was working ( just needed the tri switch to switch)
You don’t need to run the engine to test the clutch, if it clicks with direct voltage,chance are it’s good. Temp depends on other parts of the system. Some bits need gas(pressure) some don’t.
Our L322 was playing up and had 2 diagnosis that said “need new compressor “ after watching our GapIID when plugged in it turned out to be a small valve/switch, after loads of googling and looking at the system(before we were not members on here). Stealer told what to check/change. All sorted. Didn’t have to pay big money for a compressor.

Ok thanks for all your advice.
I know all the fuses are ok as I checked them today.
Just to find the compressor. Is that the same as the pump with the belt drive?
 
Yep under the bonnet. Where all the finger chopping things are so please be careful.
Top right as you look if I Remember correctly.

Don’t dig in there with it running.

If clutch works with direct power and you are sure the system is full. Look at dual pressure switch that switches power circuit to compressor on and off. Off with insufficient refrigerant pressure. On if pressure is normal and off if pressure is to high.
 
Halfrauds do a free aircon check. But there may not be a branch near you. Has anyone noticed that the price of the quick refill kits has gone through the roof. I do my own have the gear to do it.

Local garages here are all charging £99 but ATS is £44. It's a big difference and at almost one hundred pounds can it be justified?

I do my own just need the gas. But used to be able to get at Halfrauds and other places a small can of R134a and an adaptor and gauge for around £16.00 and just the gas for around £9.00 for top ups. Now the gas is ridiculously expensive.
