P38A Air suspension

Hi all I am a Newby hope u can help please I have a p38 4.6 1996. Ever time I start my rr the suspension all lower to it lowest setting till you start driving and will raise the to standard height . But will stay at standard height if you press the up on the Air suspension when you start it. thanks

Sounds like you have a leak, have you checked the air bags for leaks?
Do you mean when you get in the car its lowered already? then you start it and it will rise?

No leak can leave it for a week and will not go down. As some u start the Engine call allowers to access setting

Only scenario for this is that air is escaping from NRV1 or associated pipework depleting tank. NRV2 has failed so that when valves open on startup to level the car air from the bags flows into the tank allowing the car to drop. Only when the compressor has filled the tank will the car rise. NRV 2 is specifically in place to prevent air from bags flowing into an empty tank. Also have a look at the white plug and socket behind the bottom trim on the passenger A post that is the interface between the height selector switch and the ECU. It maybe wet and corroded giving false signals.

Tank is not empty I think as if you press air suspension up at the same time as starting Engine It will stay up or if it stared to go down it will go straight up

That white plug tip was a hellova tip. Who'd know that was there? In view of the hell I'm suffering I checked it out. Green crud in abundance. It wasn't causing any evident current problems. It was laying in wait for the most sensitive moment to rear its head. Prime minister wammers has a ring to it.
