L322 air suspension woes

just a quicky been having issues with the car for a while now and never got to the bottom of the fault, so it keeps throwing an articulation validity fault, all the height sensors have seemed to be ok and voltages work as they should.
anyhow it threw the air suspension inactive message again last week, so i plugged it into my hawkeye today, and yet again i get articulation validity fault but i also get RH front height sensor shorted to earth (or something like that) would i be right in assuming that RHF is going to be the faulty sensor throwing the articulation error codes?
i've also been looking at height sensors and mine being a vogue has the double height sensor on it (6 wires) but i notice the replacement is now a 2010 sensor with a plug designed to fit the 6pin wiring, but only uses 3 wires i guess these are the standard replacement now? that being considered will that effect headlight levelling? and would i need to change both?

The fault is telling you that the readings the ECU is getting from the sensors is so wildly out of an acceptable range that it can possible be true and shuts the system down for safety.

I am not sure of the sensor wiring or its replacement, but I would assume a dodgy sensor you report can give a validity fault if the readings are so out of the world!

it's never thrown the short circuit message before so i may just get it check out/replaced. bit concerned though the replacement is a 'modified' 2010 height sensor that takes the 6 pin plug but only uses 3 wires, that would throw headlight levelling faults and render the headlight levelling useless

TBH, the headlight leveling system on the L322 is total pants and is prone to cause CANbus issues when it goes wrong - loads of info about this little box causing grief - most are now unplugged!

ah right not seen that, could explain the change in sensor, although my headlight levelling is working (at the moment) i guess the headlights are just adjusted to the correct level after the magic box has been disconnected
