Had a chance to look under the car today well no wonder the RR sensor was causing problems the sensor was hanging off

I managed to change all sensor and recalibrate very pleased

I did have a mini meltdown when the car would not rise at the start of calibration then I realised I needed to turn the engine on

It’s all working fine now but I did struggle to clear the old codes and needed to use my friend diagnostic tool at his garage

So thanks again for all the help it’s been a good learning experience
You click on "Unlock EAS" to clear the faults.
 
I have one worry

When I was measuring the front wheel arch to centre of wheel on the high setting

In order to achieve the same height of 510
The FL was 120 and FR was 130 bits

This is above the 5 bits across the axle recommendation

Should I swap over the front sensors to see if the left hand side now becomes 130 bits ? and change sensor if it does

Not sure if this is a problem or not

Increase the 120 to 123, reduce the 130 to 127. The actual heights are never exact, if I remember correctly it's +/- 5mm

I'd just average it across the axle and put them both in at 125. A few bits out won't make much difference.
 
+1 Exactly it's not that critical.

A few years ago, I set the targets on mine RL+RR=102, and FL+FR=100 (motorway heights 10 bits lower). Then did a road test on both local & motorway & recorded the results in Nanocom.

For some reason the RL was much smoother than the other three, but even on fairly flat roads they all vary quite a bit. You can see the drop from Standard to Motorway around data point 199.

Thank you I think I will have a go at changing the settings to reduce the 10 bit difference across the axle on the high height setting and see what actual height that gives me either side

So the FL wheel Is 120 bits which is 510mm from wheel arch to centre wheel

The FR is 130 bits which is 510mm from wheel arch to centre of wheel

So by changing the bits to 125 or reduce one side and increase the other will give me different heights either side but they should be within +\~ 5 mm

it seems strange that I have such a large difference only on the high setting? For the front

Could this be a faulty sensor

More likely tolerance differences between the sensors. It's better to have the values close L-R, or the car will hunt every time you stop at junctions due to the "equalise" function, i.e. if the values are quite different, it does the "equalise", and then tries to adjust to targets, followed by more equalising !!

In your case you might be able to loosen the sensor bolts and wiggle the sensor to get them closer ? Even a slight bend on the brackets can make a difference.

Height sensors are not precision devices so the difference is normal. 123 FL and 127 FR will give less height difference than setting both to 125 and being within 5 bits will work correctly.
